Biography
DJ Vas is something of an anomaly in music. A humbling example of what it takes to truly succeed within the framework of multiple fields. A steadfast work ethic, an obsessively extensive vinyl library and the willingness to pursue the full extents of his roots (Funk, Soul, Rare Groove and Jazz).
DJ Vas having his roots in the Electronic production he goes way back in the 80s. At the age of 15 was a regular at London Soul clubs such as The Royalty The Lyceum and The Electric Ballroom Camden.
In the mid 80s he started out as a DJ collecting huge amount of Early Disco, Funk, Soul and American Imports from Trax Soho and Music Power North London. This led him to the explosion of House Music summer of love 87/88 at Camden Palace, Shoom, Heaven and Spectrum.
He always felt not challenged enough by only playing this music to this audience, so he soon felt the urge to get into the production sector to produce his own music and studied at two of the globes most prestige sound engineering schools S.A.E. School Of Audio Engineering and Alchemea London.
In 1994 he open his own commercial recording studio Global Rhythm London working with some of the best producers on countless recordings and remixes leading him to sign a major distribution deal in Europe.
His impressive discography includes Micro Esposito vs Beaten Soul feat.Tyree Cooper "That's House Music" DJ Vas Bootleg Remix out on Seamless Recordings, reaching no.4 in the Traxsource House charts and making the Best Of Traxsource Top 100 House Tracks 2011. His recordings have consistently made waves in the underground circuit and released on compilations worldwide.
Never one to sit still, DJVas founded Beats4Life in 2001 and Love2Lounge in 2006. Having been associated with extensive number of labels throughout his career, he came to realize a desire to have his own base, a vehicle for building his cataloque of quality material. Beats4Life & Love2Lounge is a foundation for DJVas to choose and release music that inspires him, as well as release his own productions and compilations.
DJVas maintains the same approach to his dj sets as to his productions, combining a variety of influences and styles fused together. From his day (Beats4Life Poolside Sessions) beach club sets to his opening sets at Nikki Beach and to his more underground club sets he has learn to to fuse his style to any given moment and place.
His unique sets and residences boast some of Europe’s most exclusive clubs and beach clubs including three Finest Clubs Of The World. Suite Del Mar, Olivia Valere Prive and Icon, along with Nikki Beach, Suite, Puro Beach, Ocean Club, Silks On the Beach, The Palace Babylon, Olivia Valere La Teraza, Pangea Prive, Circo Club Liverpool, Funky Buddha London, NYX Club Switzerland, The Egg London and The White House London.
